Twitter handout

Creativity and strategic planning along with a clear and concise messaging are key tools that create a successful Twitter account and campaign. Agricultural Communicators who use this form of new media already understand these ideals and their value.  18 million adult users were reported for the year 2009 and the number has increased as predicted. These millions of users are able to find and put out information from a wide range of topics such as branding, agricultural news, public opinions and “dispelling” specific myths.  Agricultural communicators who are considering the use of Twitter as a means of communication can comfortably dive into a new expansive market; gaining knowledge and business profit along the way.

(NOT MY PHOTOGRAPH)

Rule of Thirds:
This image has been composed with the concept of rule of thirds in mind. The dandelion is placed on the far left side of the photograph. It takes up a third of the photo and leads the eye to its subject.

Leading lines:
This image uses the leading line concept in a unique way. Instead of the traditional line leading from the front of the image and drawing attention to an image in the background it leads the eye across the photo.

HESC OVERVIEW

When viewing the HESC website I really appreciated the cohesiveness. All elements complemented one another in a great fashion. For example the font was not to overpowering and all of the photos were of adequate size. The links worked just fine and I was able to easily navigate back to needed pages just by using carrots.

There was one thing that I really did not appreciate about the HESC site. I know that it is hard to cover all events and projets that go on within the college but I did not see one picture from anything apparel studies related. I am being biased but as a student of the college I feel under represented :(. When I clicked on the apparel studies link all of the images were very OLD and the jobs and interships obtained were not up to date at all.

My summary of the homepage:
Everything was where I needed it to be and very accesible. I don't think that the scrolling down of the side bar was a huge issue as I didn't have to go too far down. The pictures were of nice contrast as well.
